Music is a universal language that speaks to everyone, be it young or old. People of all generations are always in search of good quality multimedia speakers. Multimedia speakers are useful for watching movies, enjoying music, or even playing video games on the computer. Multimedia speakers are expensive and hard to find. So we have done thorough research to find the best multimedia speakers.
This review features some of the best computer speakers for PC setups that provide excellent sound quality. These speakers allow you to easily connect your desktop computer or PC’s USB port to your setup and provide excellent performance when watching movies or listening to music. They also give off excellent sound dispersion and have a well-balanced soundstage which is ideal for people who want to upgrade their computer theater experience with high-quality audio equipment. Here are our picks:
If you’re on a budget and are looking for something to plug your TV into, or maybe for an upgrade for the basic speakers that come with your desktop computer, then Creative’s Pebble Plus is a great option. And if you’re looking to listen to tunes while gaming or watching a movie, then Pebble Plus can handle both those situations perfectly fine.
As opposed to the Gen 3, this one is smarter with improved noise-canceling technology. It also comes with two drivers that are angled at 45 degrees and a front-firing subwoofer. We found that it has good highs and mids as well as goes loud enough if you want a nice boost in volume. However, there is some distortion when cranked up to the max but only during high frequencies like guitar solos or something of the sort. Overall, this model delivers a clear sound while being on the smaller side compared to others we’ve tested so far.
We mean to say that these speakers do an excellent job of maintaining a balance between price point and sound quality. They’re not perfect, but they still managed to throw out some pretty funky tunes while keeping it clear they generally played well with others. Sounds good, right?
When we played Def Leppard’s Hysteria album via the MK300, we noted a very balanced audio signature. The metal and guitar riffs didn’t feel like they reproduced what something 10 times the price would produce, but again, this wasn’t surprising. What was surprising was the way it handled complex tracks—when we listened to music by artists like Avenged Sevenfold, pianos and saxophones had some life to them and didn’t sound muffled in any way. This made for an immersive listening experience and is one of the reasons why music lovers purchase gaming-centric headphones — so that you can hear every instrument as if you were there in person! Regardless of whether listening to classical or rock, these exceptional-sounding headphones created an incredible amount of depth — we were blown away by how realistic it sounded when using Dolby Atmos or DTS:X with Astro Command Center.
The Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speaker system offers fantastic, versatile sound for your computer. Whether you’re listening to music, watching movies, or gaming, these THX-certified speakers boast a wide frequency range of 31Hz to 20kHz and detailed audio quality with strong bass, maximum clarity, and great balance. Because these speakers are more compact than most desktop systems, you can use them with laptops and tablets on your lap or together with other components like a subwoofer. It’s powerful enough to replicate that home theater quality in your living room so you don’t actually have to abandon the comfort of your sofa or bed.
If the speaker system is an area you’re looking to update and you’re happy with its audio input, then it may not be your best option. Other systems offer better sound quality and enhanced connectivity, but sometimes you have to make compromises like this in order to receive a solid product at a cheaper price. The Audioengine 2+ doesn’t come with Bluetooth connectivity for instance, which might be something you want if you prefer reliable wireless setups where cables simply aren’t needed. Still, when it comes down to it, the Audioengine 2+ boasts incredible sound quality – despite being quite affordable!
When people talk about audio gear and multimedia consumption, Klipsch speakers are a name that keeps coming up. Often referred to as “reference-grade” one can find them everywhere from film studios to gaming rooms and even mobile DJs who often praise their warm classic sound which has stood the test of time. So what’s it like to have Klipsch 2.1 THX speakers in your home? Simply put: they will make you fall in love with movies all over again! But there are many factors why they’re so good at bringing out the best of any speaker system they’re connected to, so we’ll try and detail the most important ones here:
Bose Companion 2 Series III comes with mid and treble performance that’s even better than the ProMedia 2.1, but you get nowhere near as much bass. Plus they also cost more.
The Audioengine A2+ powered speakers are in every way worth their price and then some. With this pair of speakers, you’re not only purchasing a fantastic set of bookshelf-sized speakers that work with your computer, but they also function with your smartphone via Bluetooth connectivity, as well as an RCA connection that can be used to connect the Audioengine A2+ to an external woofer. It’s great and versatile for all uses; whether it be for gaming or music listening or movie watching.
The audio quality on these speakers is pretty darn good so you’re getting a crisp and clear surround sound listening experience. The aptX connectivity makes it easy to stream music wirelessly, and you can use the RCA cable input if your music player doesn’t have Bluetooth connectivity. What some don’t realize, is that the USB connection also utilizes this feature. As such, the overall sound quality is even better when connected to a computer as opposed to just being used wirelessly. All things considered, this speaker set is well worth the money especially considering how much has been put into its design and construction since it far exceeds other competing products at half the price.
The audio quality from the new and improved Audioengine A2+ is nothing short of impressive. The highs, mids, and lows all come together to create a full range of frequencies that will make you want to keep listening for as long as your ears will let you. These speakers are perfect for lovers of great music who also happen to love movies or gaming because they produce such high-quality sound and don’t cost an arm and a leg. If you’re looking for something with more power but still want fantastic audio quality, these certainly won’t disappoint!
One thing that makes Logitech a household name is its computer hardware. From speakers to keyboards, the company has done well serving the needs of tech-savvy consumers looking for something to get them online. Technically, it’s these same products that now augment gamers’ experience in the living room with other entertainment products and those that accompany this newfound need for plastic peripherals.
During our tests, we found the bass to be deep and rumbling. In other words, the audio is perfect. The high notes are captured with nuance, or in other words, there’s a good amount of clarity in the sound. The RGB lighting at work here is especially good – it’s not outshone by too much, like on some other gaming peripherals (are you listening, Razer?). The keyboard comes with Logitech’s amazing software which supports hundreds of games with custom RGB profiles. There are more than a few we particularly liked and took inspiration from. One feature, in particular, Screen Sampling works remarkably well if you want to capture and fully appreciate your favorite game at that certain moment – just turn your head towards the screen for a moment and focus on an area where you’d like all the lights to congregate! This way you can really make all those great moments last for a long time!
The G560’s lighting is a major factor when it comes to immersion. But surprisingly, so was the positional audio created through DTS: X. We’re not big fans of virtual surround 7.1 headsets since they have a tendency to lack precision and clarity but were surprised at how well this worked with the G560. The G560 is the perfect blend of 8 mixed reality RGB lights AND advanced surround sound from the DTS:X 120db gradiometer if you enjoy immersive sound effects in your games and prefer something more advanced than just stereo sound.
The G560 proved to be amazing for handling audio that included explosions but became somewhat overwhelming when listening to music at lower volumes. Software adjustments helped a little bit, but it requires first setting the device up to work over Bluetooth, and if you don’t mind the extra step then more power to you. In my opinion, I think the device is better suited for gaming purposes than anything else. It’s not that great of a system for playing music unless you want loud noise in your ears all day.
Most sound systems for PCs and gaming devices lack a number of features and controls that audiophiles are hoping for. Instead, they focus on providing incredibly clear, unfaltering full volume bass that is nearly overwhelming at times but produces very little definition in the low-mid range or highs. One of the most common ways to remedy this problem is by purchasing a solid standalone equalizer with a high pass filter. Companies like BBE (Boosted Bass Energy) have done bass to great lengths producing outstanding bands that not only reproduce crystal clear sounds but also give you total control over your overall audio output as well! Whether you are into hip hop, punk rock, trance, or even country music, BBE has something to offer you, whether it’s personal headphones or virtual surround sound! These two companies just so happened to be on sale at $75 and $60 respectively — which is quite frankly an unbeatable price considering the value that they provide us with.
Our favorite jellyfish-looking computer speakers are back, armed with a 100-watt dome-shaped woofer as well as eight 1.4-inch full-range transducers, which makes them more powerful than ever. This version of the Harman Kardon Soundsticks 4 also comes in new colors and has been given a slight makeover too on the outside to give it a more understated look.
While we haven’t tested this new model ourselves, its users would recommend that you rectify the following by taking a specific action: (insert reason here). The time is now. Do it while it counts! More importantly, all its frequency responses are well represented out of the box. Plus, not only does it have lots of volumes, but you can get loud without suffering from distortion if you know how to use it correctly, which is pretty impressive for a set of computer speakers.
An enduring design in an evolving world: the Soundsticks look evolves while keeping its original elegance and sophisticated style. The speaker base is redesigned, adopting a gloss finish and refined edges, targeted at achieving a more compact, concise aesthetic. Soft lines inspire aesthetics evoking the jet age style that has become iconic of Bowers & Wilkins sound systems. The simplicity of lines reflects the values behind this project: it has been designed to focus on the product itself without losing any visual appeal; honed down to an uncluttered silhouette capable of attracting attention but pleasant to look at.
The Soundsticks 4 have amazing sound quality that sounds great on bass-heavy tracks. On The Knife’s “Silent Shout” the speakers produce incredibly clean highs that are balanced by an impressive low-end output for an optimal sound signature. You’d think that at top volumes the sound would distort, but there is an amount of digital processing involved, which protects the drivers without diminishing the abundant bass. This speaker uses frequency response technology to manage driver protection while ensuring optimum overall fidelity within a given dynamic range.
Edifier is known for its wonderful power in providing high-quality audio with its products. It’s why we chose it to be a featured company twice as it’s well-versed in producing devices that distinguish themselves from other brands by either having unique looks or by being affordably priced. Their E25 Luna Eclipse is a perfect example of this because its speakers look like they came straight out of Pixar cartoons. The Edifier M3200, on the other hand, has a much more unconventional design but one that definitely catches the eye. This speaker system resembles an hourglass and you can tell by how blue it looks on the trimming around each satellite that it seems to be high-end
While Edifier’s traditional speakers have always been a cut above the rest, it’s no secret that their portable audio solutions have always played second fiddle. Up until this point, many of the previous offerings from the brand have been lackluster at best in comparison to other options out there; and frankly, not worth your time and money. With that said, the Edifier S750DB is a huge leap forward for those looking for great sound to accompany them on whatever they’re doing. The price isn’t as outrageous as some other high-end wireless speakers on the market either which may be appealing if you’re an audiophile or just not keen on breaking your bank account wide open to enjoy premium sound quality… even if you can afford it!
One of the most important facets of a quality speaker system is how good the bass sounds and how much of it you’re able to get. The Bluetooth-enabled subwoofer features a bass adjustment dial on the rear of the box. On its lowest setting, the bass is particularly weak and I doubt anyone would choose to have it that low. In contrast, when the bass is set to maximum, it is rich and deep and seems like it can hold out well at full volume. While this isn’t necessarily enough power to turn any screws loose, it’s certainly more than adequate especially considering the 5½” driver size. Depending on if I’ve got the sound turned up or not throughout my day, I tend to keep the bass dial between 60% – 80%.
Setting up the Edifier M3200BT is a simple three-step process. Step 1: Connect one end of the supplied power cord to the back of the speaker, and then plug it into a nearby outlet. Step 2: The 3.5 mm jack on your speaker needs to be connected to your computer using the included male-to-male 3.5mm audio cable. In addition, you can connect another pair of speakers using that same port or use it with a music receiver or amplifier if desired (like how many people have done in our team). Rewritten Content: Setting up Edifier M3200BT isn’t too difficult and only consists of three steps: Step 1 – connecting it to power by either using an AC adapter or plugging it into an electrical outlet (we recommend trying both!)
The speakers connect to the back of your television with standard audio cables. The volume control connects through a VGA cable that you will then plug into your PC or laptop.
Pairing the M3200BT is simple with Bluetooth. Simply select the Edifier from the list of available devices on your smartphone or tablet, and you’re ready to go. The M3200BT appears to stay in a low-power state so that it’s always ready for pairing if needed, requiring no button presses or special assistance in getting it going.
As I demonstrated at the top of this review, this indoor/outdoor speaker also has an NFC sensor that lets you pair the device with your phone by getting a little closer.
We tested the iPhone 7 with a number of Bluetooth devices, and in all cases, there were no significant issues within 10 meters of distance. Even at this distance, we found the quality to be comparable to when the device was connected wirelessly so that you could move freely around your place of business without worrying about losing your connection!
The sound from these speakers is not just decent, but it is cutting-edge. I have been exploring a lot of options over the past few days and I have to say that I am very impressed with this audio setup because it combines a clean sound signature with an overall rock-solid construction. In short, I’ll buy another one if anything were to happen to this one! 🙂
Logitech incorporates several noteworthy features into the Z407 speaker. These include a wireless control puck that takes advantage of Bluetooth connectivity and has a range of 20 meters, two all-metal input jacks for use with other audio devices, and options for use throughout your entire house. It also includes a built-in lithium-ion battery and micro USB port, as well as dynamic fine-tuning by way of + and – buttons on the faceplate. Be advised that these speakers require multiple software installations from Logitech’s website before they can be used to their full potential because they come a bit more unpolished than many comparable models currently on the market.
That subwoofer is surprisingly powerful for its size as I expected it to be, producing a good amount of rumble for those intense game and movie moments. Your computer speakers will not be able to handle anything near that level.
Available in black and white finishes, the Z407 system comes with a slick-looking pair of satellite speakers with downward-firing, front-facing drivers, each with a 2.3-inch diameter. The satellites are precariously thin, but the power that the drivers can put out helps minimize cabinet vibrations. There’s also an impactful subwoofer at the heart of this system which features a roughly 5-inch down-firing driver; it measures about 9 inches square—large for compact speaker systems these days.
The speakers have detachable tripod stands that snap into the bottom, and can also snap into the top in order to keep them posed upright or to rest horizontally. The most important thing to take away here is that due to their special shape the driver placement allows the upper portions of the speakers to then be placed vertically with ease, which makes a huge difference since apparently many manufacturers neglect this factor entirely! Plus you still get both vertical/horizontal positioning options and superb audio quality.
Creative’s T100 proves you don’t need to break the bank or get a large space to create great sound. While this stereo system doesn’t produce powerful bass and surrounding sound, it still has the great audio quality for its compact design and affordable price, especially considering what you’re getting. It’s awesome for music listening, movie watching, and even gaming.
As an audiophile and lover of music, you’re discovering that these days there isn’t all that much out there within your price range or size restrictions for a stereo system unless you’re willing to sacrifice one or the other, though not both. Many speakers these days are very limited in terms of options. While many only offer wireless Bluetooth connectivity (a must-have) or the ability to connect through USB (also a must-have), this speaker set from Creative offers so much more. You’ll find Optical Audio, USB FLAC, 3.5mm AUX-in, and Wireless Bluetooth 5.0 – all at once without sacrificing quality or performance.
Creative has kept things rather simple with this one. As a mindful consumer, note that the USB port on this is not for general connectivity purposes to your PC – it’s meant merely to insert a flash drive to play songs, and it supports FLAC, WAV, and MP3 files. It might be an archaic function, but today many consumers still like to keep things classic with a physical copy of their favorite music. And if so, then how can you say no to preserving their listening experience?
The optical connection on the T100 is perfect for mirroring your Full HD screen if you need it. It also makes a great way of transmitting audio such as in digital audio format as can be used with Dolby TrueHD. Many are moving away from this method though – both Sony and Microsoft are considering removing these options from their next consoles, which could make the standard obsolete in the future.
Optical audio has always been a great alternative for people who want better audio quality over a standard 3.5mm jack. But with technology advancing, most of the newer motherboards come with an optical out nowadays as well. The reason why laptops don’t have optical out is that the optical port is usually hooked up to an internal sound card – which isn’t found in laptops. However, if you have a desktop PC or are likely to get one built for you, it’s definitely worth checking if your motherboard has an onboard Optical Out port.
One technology forward-thinking enough to spare you the constant need of charging your smart device is the Bluetooth 5.0 wireless connection. This allows you to connect wireless devices, like smartphones, directly to the T100 using the latest Bluetooth tech used in many devices like the better sound quality and a stronger signal range. The ASUS Transformer features a slot that can accommodate two devices at once so you have fewer limitations when it comes to where your work must be done.
Creative has made a name for itself by bringing audiophiles high-quality audio products at very affordable prices, and the T100 is no exception. The ChorusSound technology that’s married to an 80W peak power amplifier delivers near audiophile quality sound for its relatively modest price of £49.99. Each speaker in the two-speaker setup houses a 2.75″ full-range driver, which was designed to deliver crisp highs and detailed vocals while apparently directing vibrations away from your ears so as not to muffle your listening experience. There’s also dual-band MIMO wireless that provides robust network transmissions without interference or dropouts, ensuring a stable connection with as many devices as possible on up to 60 meters. Not bad considering you can pick up a pair of T100 speakers for less than the cost of many flagship phones!
The two-channel internal design of the Creative T100, lacking a subwoofer, means the bass isn’t nearly as impactful as is often the case with full-range speakers. However, Creative’s patented BasXPort technology assists in boosting low frequencies, which comes in handy for movies and music. This helps to avoid tinny or weak sound quality, ensuring that people won’t be disappointed by such a small setup. The sound quality is quite good in its own right thanks to the Dolby Digital 8 virtual surround sound system and built-in equalizer! If you are looking for a compact 2.0 speaker set at an affordable price, then look no further than Creative T100!
The Creative T100 is great for those who are not looking for something too extravagant in a desk-mounted speaker. It’s solidly built, has easy volume and bass controls for quick adjustments, and sounds great no matter what kind of music you’re listening to.
The Razer Nommo Pro is a pair of high-quality desktop speakers that has the capacity to amaze. Although the price tag of $500 might be intimidating, these may just be worth it—regardless of whether you think they are or not. The sound quality and balance are distinct enough for them to be considered one of the better speaker systems on the market. The classy look also makes them a great conversation starter, but we’ve found that a lot of people tend to shy away when they realize how expensive they are; so what do you say? Is this something you could see yourself adding to your cart? Are there higher-end speaker systems out there than these?
There’s a booming down-firing subwoofer that will blow you away, and then there’s the Razer Chroma feature that makes these speakers look just as great as they sound. While there are more reasonably priced computer speakers out there, with this level of quality, the Razer Nommo Pro is worth the cost of entry. And if you have invested in other Razer peripherals, you can sync up that RGB lighting with the rest of your setup.
The Edifier E25 Luna Eclipse is an excellent 2.1 PC speaker system, featuring a unique and appealing design, as well as offering high sound quality, providing you with the ultimate audio experience whether you’re listening to music or gaming on your PC.
The Luna features a solid, crisp sound and good stereo separation, thanks to its Dynamic Driver. For gamers, music lovers, and movie buffs who appreciate powerful bass without overpowering everything else around it, the Luna sports a Dynamic Driver that provides standing room-filling sound quality with its intricate logarithms. It really comes into its own when you connect it with other Logitech speakers via Bluetooth or regular 3.5 mm cables. Two LUNA 2 speakers paired with the 5.8G subwoofer give you something special: an outstanding 5.1 system that is among the most popular computer speakers in 2022!
Luna E is a room speaker system featuring two medium-sized but powerful left and right stereo speakers and one very large subwoofer. The satellites are about 8 inches x 8 inches x 8 inches and the subwoofer is roughly 15 inches wide, 14 inches deep, and 22 pounds. Aesthetically, this speaker system is designed to stand out, as they are sure to be the topic of conversation whenever people walk into your home or office. Luna E’s components can connect with other electronics via optical or auxiliary input.
One satellite speaker has controls on its edges. We do not anticipate this will be the most sensitive or used button group in most circumstances. Lift comes with a small remote control that is slightly smaller than an Apple TV remote, which makes it pocketable (but easy to lose). The buttons include power, volume, subwoofer volume, and three distinct listening selections — 3D, THX, and music. As you might imagine we found the last setting best for Bluetooth listening via wireless devices as it has great range. In addition to this if you are streaming from your iOS device you can conclusively control playback and/or volume adequately from your app of choice.
Luna E’s quality is excellent and they make for an enjoyable listening experience. However, at this price point, we were expecting a “wow” moment. Their size might be perfect for a desk or living room but in a large room or setting not having the same commanding bass punch as their smaller counterparts might leave some longing for more. We generally preferred Luna E’s on their own compared to the subwoofer for half the price as was tried on one song and found to sound good so it could just be a matter of personal preference when it comes down to mixing your own unique audio cocktail.
Solely as a Bluetooth speaker, the e235 Luna E sounds like overkill. It brings the bass and offers more entertainment value than your average Bluetooth speaker – but there are other speakers that offer more for your buck on the market. We wouldn’t give it a separate rating since it’s basically just the sound system that comes bundled with the e235 Luna TV set. You could basically purchase it as a sound system for your TV if you were considering it, either if you needed something of superb quality without worry, or even if you just didn’t want to shell out money on an additional sound system Bluetooth device. However, if you’re in love with the design of this particular speaker, then by all means: we wouldn’t completely dismiss it as a music listening device!
Best Multimedia Speakers for Music – Buying Guide
There are more than a few factors that should be considered when purchasing the best multimedia speakers. In this guide, we will look at the things you should look at before making the final decision.
Give the power to your speakers – people don’t have to be audiophiles to want high-quality sound when they’re listening or playing music on their computers. A laptop’s built-in speakers are seldom any good at all, and desktop monitors hardly ever compare to external ones.
Nowadays there are a plethora of computer speakers on the market, each differing from the other in some way. Some have different features, and styles, and some are specifically designed for particular uses, so which ones do you buy?
PC speakers were built to provide users with a more efficient audio experience when watching videos or listening to music on their computer. Unlike the traditional computer speakers, which are limited in terms of the audio they can produce and the number of multimedia features they can take advantage of, PC speakers make it possible for users to enjoy rich bass and mid-levels as well as higher notes that contribute to an all-around immersive experience. The main benefit that makes PC speakers so appealing is the multitude of features they offer such as NFC (near field communication) technology, touch buttons, passive radiators, and Bluetooth connectivity.
Edifier speakers are designed for people who care about better sound quality but don’t want to pay a fortune for it.
If you’re just happy listening to music on your computer then the £30 Zalman ZM-RS6F will get the job done, but they won’t blow you away with their sound quality. In order for us to recommend a pair of PC speakers that would truly immerse you inside of your favorite game we would have to take price into account – how much are you willing to pay and what are you expecting from your speakers? The next three pairs of PC speakers in our round up all cost less than £50, so let’s have a look at them:
Types Of PC Speakers
Here you find three main types of PC speakers and all have different benefits both in sound output quality and style.
1. SPEAKERS & SUBWOOFER
Computer speakers are a common product found in many households, with many different uses. Generally, the first set of speakers people have is for their computer. In this article, we briefly discuss the realm of computer speakers and what to look for when purchasing a pair for your system!
Today, floor-standing speakers are a nice option for the modern household because of their size and appearance. They will generally go with your decor pretty well, help improve your hearing in a bigger room, and not take up much space on your desk or nightstand. If you’re looking to buy some decent bookshelf speakers or floor-standing speakers but aren’t sure which ones are right for you, keep reading this article so we can help you pick out some quality options!
These headphones are ideal for those who combine their love of music with the need to use the computer for work throughout the day. There are several different varieties, some with a better sound than others, but all provide a high-quality listening experience.
2. ACTIVE SPEAKERS
These are generally shelf or bookshelf style all-in-one speakers with built-in amplifiers that you can place on either side of your computer screen. You plug them into your personal computer and they’re ready to go!
Tower speakers are often bigger than other types of computer speakers, but the benefit is in their sound quality. They range from entry-level multimedia speakers to high-end hi-fi products.
Soundbars can range from very small in size to the length of actual television.
PC soundbars are great for conveying basic ambient noise and adding depth to your listening experience. They create a larger soundstage than headphones and are typically quite easy to install. The Edifier G7000 is a good option because it’s reasonably priced, sounds great, and works with PC, Mac, or the PS3.
We’re big fans of PC soundbars as they offer a great alternative to traditional desktop speakers. They are discreet, mount well under your monitor and many come with integrated AMPs so you can expect some serious sound quality for all-around desktop computing use!
What Do You Want Them For?
There are lots of reasons why you’d want to upgrade your computer sound. Some people may need it for gaming, while others might just want better quality audio. You should research your options before choosing either a sound card or external speakers, as they each have their own pros and cons.
Don’t bother spending $250 on a gaming soundbar if you only ever listen to podcasts and YouTube videos!
If you’re looking for a sound system that’s wireless and easy to set up, try our portable Bluetooth speaker. You can put it anywhere – even in an area with low visibility due to its point-anywhere design.
These stereo desktops are our most commonly requested systems. The separate subwoofer unit pounds out the low frequencies which will fill in any empty voids or bumps in the overall sound signature without being overbearing – even at high volumes! Any pair of desktop speakers with built-in support for these low frequencies should be able to handle the power offered by the subwoofer. We suggest using an active subwoofer whenever possible as that means you’ll get a more balanced, controlled bass response at all volume levels. This setup will work great no matter what you’re listening to and even if you don’t have a dedicated space but still want something better than laptop speakers. It also pairs wonderfully with your surround sound system!
Some of the best home theatre systems come with remote controls that make it very easy to access all the different features of your system. However, some remotes might also use Bluetooth for streaming music (typically when connecting a device wirelessly). Typically, most electronics these days are connected by wires because they come with integrated speakers built right into the devices themselves.
If your main goal is to listen to music in high quality from your computer, whether you’re working and want to sit at your desk or when using it as a Hi-Fi system, then active bookshelf speakers such as the Edifier range are what we’d recommend.
This type of PC speaker is where sound quality isn’t everything. You see, there are many ways of amplifying the audio signal without resulting in lower-quality files or basically processor power being wasted to enhance the sounds coming from your speakers. These types of speakers feature a digital amplifier which has one major advantage – it doesn’t give out a sound that’s distorted and treble-heavy like with cheaper models, plus that separate subwoofer for extra bass is really adding something to your listening experience as well! The case on this model is by more than a hint also surprisingly hardy.
Afterward finally, if you’re into gaming passionate then there are quite a few options available for you.
My own personal favorite, which sits proudly on my home office desk, is the Edifier G7000 gaming soundbar really good.
It’s discreet and looks great whilst fitting in perfectly with my monitor mount. It provides high-quality audio for music, films, and gaming from its three separate modes: Stereo Hi-Fi for personal listening enjoyment that projects solid bass response as well as precision highs with an adorable mini-sub; Bassy Mode for when you really want to put on face-melting beats how with a strong full audio spectrum; 360 Phase Mode for when you want to immerse yourself completely in the world of your favorite movie or show using this mode’s all-around stereo sound.
Connecting To Your Computer
All of the systems mentioned above have been optimized for use with computer systems and laptops, hence these devices are simple to connect via USB-C ports. As there’s no need to connect separate amplifiers or excessive cabling, they are all easy to operate and can make more efficient use of your space at home.
3.5MM / RCA JACKS
Most laptops and computers will have a 3.5mm headphone jack allowing you to connect it to the RCA or female audio input on the speakers. A Y connector will allow you to power the speakers plus in-line volume control along with easy connectivity using various ports available on your computer.
The most common audio cables will be the RCA variety on active bookshelf speakers. PC soundbars and 2.1 PC speakers or those used for personal audio amplification may feature a 3.5mm jack instead in order to playback sounds from devices fed by their inputs.
If you’re serious about PC audio and the best possible results, consider using a USB connection to connect your computer directly to your PC speakers or sound system.
Now, most new PCs won’t have an optical output. However, some monitors do so you may connect your PC to your monitor via an audio jack and your monitor to your speakers with an optical cable.
So that’s your main types of connections covered. As a client, you just plug the cable into both ends, and voila, all of this technology is ready to use quickly and easily.
The DBX RCIS is of course compatible with external components. Using the remote control, you can switch to a serious audio streamer or turntable connected via the phono stage input and your streaming device via the USB input. The RCIS allows you to even connect multiple sources so there are never any long waiting lists! No need to change cables – simply press a button on your remote and enjoy music from different sources!
